About the Journal
Journal of Money and Economy (JME) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published in English by the Monetary and Banking Research Institute (MBRI). Established in Spring 1999, the journal provides a scholarly forum for high-quality theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research in monetary economics, banking, finance, and related areas of macroeconomics.
JME aims to advance and disseminate economic knowledge by publishing original and rigorous research relevant to monetary and financial systems, with particular attention to issues concerning Iran, emerging markets, and developing economies, while also welcoming studies with broader international relevance and comparative perspectives.
The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to, monetary economics and policy, central banking, commercial and Islamic banking, financial markets and institutions, financial regulation and supervision, financial stability, macroeconomic analysis, macro-financial linkages, economic modelling and forecasting, payment systems, and other topics at the intersection of money, banking, finance, and the macroeconomy.
JME welcomes original research articles employing theoretical, empirical, quantitative, and policy-oriented approaches, as well as high-quality review articles that make a substantive contribution to the literature. Manuscripts are expected to demonstrate scientific rigor, originality, methodological soundness, and clear relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.
The journal is published in accordance with the regulations governing scientific journals of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and currently holds a Grade B ranking.
Peer Review and Editorial Standards
JME is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, independence, and rigor throughout the editorial and peer-review process. Drawing on MBRI’s academic and professional networks, the journal benefits from a broad pool of qualified reviewers, university faculty members, and specialists in monetary, banking, financial, and macroeconomic research.
The editorial process is designed to combine rigorous and substantive peer review with timely and well-organized manuscript handling, ensuring that efficiency in the review process does not compromise the quality, depth, or independence of scholarly assessment.
Open Access and Publication Fees
JME is an open-access journal. No submission, peer-review, or publication fees are charged to authors.
